I never ever heard of Sara Palin before hearing that John McCain has picked her as his running mate. What is he thinking? The VP will be the one to run the country in the event the president can no longer do it and they should have the experience to be able to step up and do just that. But look at her resume. Beauty queen, mayer of a small town in Alaska, and governor for only two years. It is true that she is a working mother of five and that does take some skill to do but we are talking about the Whitehouse here. What does she bring to the table that will enable her to run that house.
Sadly, the person who told me about the selection had only one thing to say about her. "She is just so darling". But, I asked, what does she stand for, what is her record, what are her qualifications? The answer I got was that these things were unknown but that she sure was cute. I am really scared for our country, for the GOP party who think this is okay, and for the future of American politics.

Hurricane Fay Projected Path
I have never been in a hurricane but the news that Hurricane Fay is about to hit Florida has made me stop and think about what I would do if I were living there. Does one pack up and run or stay and ride it out. I have seen pictures of what can happen in the projected path of a hurricane and it is kind of scary. But, does it always happen? Do some just ignore the data and projections and hope for the best?
I have been evacuated from my home because of a forrest fire and I have been trapped in my home because of a flood but the thought of having my home blown away by a hurricane is something else. I personally think I would pack up all my treasures and hit the road for a safer location. My nephew, who lives in Florida disagrees. He and his family are boarding up the windows, moving their valuables to their safe zone in their house and hoping to ride it out. I am keeping my fingers crossed that their option works.

I am later going to delete this
You are never too old to learn new things and I am learning to blog! Hopefully this will be successful and I can share ideas and earn some money at the same time. Wish me luck.
